Souris Snack Bar was a canteen style restuarant which was opened in Souris in 1949, with a renovation and

grand opening taking place in the summer of 1955. It was owned and operated by Mr. Sterling Gillespie[1]. It featured tables and booths to sit down and eat, and sold ice-cream, dairy products, magazines and Seaman's beverages. It boasted a new soda fountain, a gas range grill, and a French frier. The Guardian reports also that in this newest renovation there was installed a dish washer and dish sterilizer.

The countertop was finished in birch plywood. There was space for thirteen people to sit on the stools at the countertop, while there was space for four people to sit at each of the three booths. Full course meals were available at any time of the day.

The exterior of the restaurant was painted grey and trimmed in white[1].
