When John Knight arrived on the Island in c. 1835, Souris East, then called Colville Bay, was a quiet community often farms and a small store which probably belonged to John Coughlan Ten Farms
John Knight's widow, Amelia MacDonald, died in 1903. It is said that half
of Souris changed hands in 1907, the day of the land sale of the Knight
