Rollo Bay West School was located in Rollo Bay West on the property occupied by Kurt Chaisson's home, although closer to the road that the home. Tress have overgrown the actual site of the school. This property is on the south side of Route 2, several hundred meters east of Becky Townshend's Ducks Unlimited pond at the top of the hill. With the closure of the school after the opening of Fortune Consolidated School, the building was rented as a residence but slowly fell into disrepair. In 1986 Colleen and Colin Jack purchased the derelict structure and moved it west to the property originally owned by the McKinnon family and turned it into their home.
One teacher at this school was a Mr. Louis Gallant, who taught there in 1931.
Ms. Elaine MacKinnon was teacher here in 1953. The Guardian of 21 December 1953 remarks that teacher and pupils were hard at work preparing a Christmas concert, to be performed the next night.
